The thin wall construction allows use without removal of cones and locknuts, and the 5mm guide pin helps stabilize the tool when used with quick-release hubs. To determine if you have a cassette or freewheel system, simply spin the sprockets backwards. If the tool fitting spins with the cogs, it is a cassette system. If the tool fitting does not spin, it is a freewheel system. If you have a Campagnolo cassette, derailleur, or shifter, you will need the BBT-5/FR-11 tool. Otherwise, the FR-5.2 line of tools will be suitable.
