To install the new gear cable and housing, you will need to pull out the old inner gear cable and remove the housing. Take the old cable housing, measure against the new housing, and make any length adjustments needed. After ensuring the correct length, attach the gear cable housing to your frame. Next, attach the gear cable to your shifter and derailleur, threading it through the gear cable. Secure the gear cable tightly with an Allen key on the derailleur, and adjust the gear cable tightening or loosening based on feedback from shifting the gear. Once the gears are set up perfectly, attach the gear nipple and pinch with pliers to prevent the gear cable from fraying at the end. Replicate the process for your front or rear derailleur.
